About this Item

Italian Luxury Meets American Craftsmanship

As it turns out, only two fabric mills in the world have the capability to create proper Grenadine. Ours comes from Fermo Fossati, which is located just outside of Como, Italy. Founded in 1871, Fermo Fossati is the oldest silk fabric mill in Italy, and third oldest in the world. Their Grenadine looms are rather old as well, dating back to the early 1900's. Their production processes are slow and meticulous, and ensure that each yard of fabric is executed to the highest degree.

This tie is cut and sewn entirely by hand at our North Carolina factory. More than a hundred stitches create the lifeline of the tie, giving it a perfect drape while allowing the fabric to flow freely when worn. Even after a full day of wear, this tie will always return to its original shape. A painstakingly hand-rolled edge completes the look for this semi-translucent fabric.

Grenadine ties have long set the bar for neckwear, occupying superlative rankings for elegance, breathability, heritage styling, and textile construction. But what sets them apart? Grenadine is unlike any other fabric available on the market thanks to its incredibly complex jacquard weave. Notably, it's beautifully textured and features a distinctly open construction. The gossamer appearance not only adds dimension and visual appeal, but it also breathes beautifully. We partnered with Fermo Fossati, a 150+ year old fabric mill in Italy and one of only two mills in the world that can create a true Grenadine fabric. This is Grenadine at its absolute best.
